Blind Site Licensing Dates Announced ----------------------------------------------------------------
ANNAPOLIS — The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) today announced blind site licenses for Maryland duck hunters will be available beginning Aug. 5.

A list of eligible counties and participating DNR offices is below.

Each location will hold a lottery on Aug. 5 at 8:30 a.m. to determine the processing order of applicants. To be eligible for the drawing, applicants should arrive at one of the participating locations between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m., and present a Maryland resident hunting license from 2007-2008 or 2008-2009 and a Maryland’s driver’s license or proof of residency; except for landowners, or persons with the written permission of a landowner, who desire to license their own property.

Applicants will be allowed up to 10 minutes to select their blind sites; no more than two sites per hunter may be selected per day. Lottery numbers are not transferable.
Maps of shoreline licensed by riparian landowners are available for preview online: http://atlas.mdmerlin.net/blinds/

Landowners wishing to license their own property should bring a copy of the property account information available through the website of the Department of Assessments and Taxation (www.dat.state.md.us) and a tax map or legible map showing the exact location of the shoreline to be licensed.

Individuals arriving after 8 a.m. will be permitted to complete their applications after the lottery.
