Turkey Scouting report

Post by drifter on March 30th 2008, 9:29 pm

Went out to listen for turkeys near Crumpton in upper QA Co this morning. Misjudged dawn by 10-15 mins or so, but wasn't too late to still hear some birds on the roost. Heard at least 4 different toms in 3 places (2 were together). Once fly down time came, they shut up. Should only be getting better.... Very Happy

Got there about 635, should have been there 620 or so.

I went scouting last week a bit - later in the afternoon. Saw 4 gobblers together, no hens.
Not huge birds, but it was Great to see them on the farm! I just hope they will stick around!

Tuesday's Turkey Scouting

Post by TCE200 on April 16th 2008, 1:31 pm

Went to the place where I hunt turkeys and saw a flock of 13 birds!!!!! Exclamation
7 Gobblers and 6 Hens! As I was watching them coming out of a bottom in a wheat field all the gobblers started fighting! Must be trying to establish dominance!!
Just wish I had the Camera!
Can't Wait for April 18th!!
