OFFICIAL Maryland Late Waterfowl Seasons Announced

Note: (1) Shooting hours are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset. All dates are inclusive. No possession limit for snow geese; for all other waterfowl, the possession limit is twice the daily bag limit; (2) Waterfowl hunting is closed on Sundays in Maryland by federal regulation to compensate for the prohibition of hunting on Sundays by Maryland law; (3) No open season for canvasback, harlequin duck, and swans.
DUCKS:
Season Dates: Oct. 18 - Oct. 25, Nov. 8 - Nov. 28, Dec. 16 - Jan. 24
Duck Daily Bag and Possession Limits: 6 ducks (including mergansers) per day which may include no more than: 5 long-tailed ducks, 4 scoters, 4 mallards (max. 2 hen mallards), 3 wood ducks, 2 redheads, 2 hooded mergansers, 1 pintail, 1 fulvous tree duck, 1 mottled duck, 1 black duck (during black duck season), 1 scaup per day during Oct. 18 - Oct. 125, Nov. 8 - Nov. 28, and Dec. 16 - Jan. 1; and 2 scaup per day during Jan. 2 - Jan. 24. No open season for canvasback and harlequin ducks. In addition to the duck bag limit, 15 coots per day.
Black Duck:
Season Dates: Nov. 8 - Nov. 28, Dec. 16 - Jan. 24
Bag Limit: 1 black duck during black duck season only.
SEA DUCKS (Scoters, Long-tailed Duck, and Eiders)
Season Dates: Oct. 4 - Jan. 31
Limit: 5 (no more than 4 scoters) per day
ATLANTIC POPULATION (AP) CANADA GOOSE
Season Dates: Nov. 15 - Nov. 28, Dec. 18 - Jan. 24
Limit: 2 per day
AP RESIDENT POPULATION CANADA GEESE
Season Dates: Sept. 1-15, Nov. 15 - Nov. 28, Dec. 16 - Mar. 4
Limit: 5 per day
Location: Sept Season: Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Dorchester Harford, Kent , AQ, St. Mary's Smoerset, Talbot, Wicomico, Worchester, the portion of Anne Arundel Co. east of I895, I97 and Rt3, part of PG county east of Rt3, Rt301 and part of Charles Co west of 301 to the VA line.
Late Resident season: Allegany, Frederick, Garrett, Montgomery, and Washington Counties; that portion of Carroll County west of Route 31 to the intersection of Route 97, and west of Route 97 to the Pennsylvania line; that portion of Prince George’s County west of Route 3 and Route 301; and that portion of Charles County west of Route 301 to the Virginia line.
Snow Geese:
Season Dates: Nov.1 - Nov. 28, Dec 4 - Mar. 10
Limit: 15 per day
NATIONAL YOUTH WATERFOWL HUNTING DAY
Date: Nov 1
Limit: 2 Canada goose, 15 snow geese, 3 brant, 15 coot, and 6 ducks (including mergansers) per day which may include no more than: 5 long-tailed ducks, 4 scoters, 4 mallards (max. 2 hen mallards), 3 wood ducks, 2 redheads, 2 scaup, 2 hooded mergansers, 1 pintail, 1 black duck, 1 fulvous tree duck, and 1 mottled duck. No open season for canvasback, harlequin duck, and swans.
Hunters 15 years of age or younger may participate in the National Youth Waterfowl Hunting Day if the individual possesses a valid hunting license or is exempt from Maryland hunting license requirements. The individual must possess a Maryland Migratory Game Bird Stamp, and must be accompanied in the field by an individual who:
-Is 21 years old or older.
-Possesses a valid Maryland hunting license, or is exempt from hunting license requirements.
-Is not afield with a firearm, bow or other hunting device.
